We have never traded in a car, ever, so future value isn’t a concern so much as having a car that can last as long as possible while not carelessly throwing away money either.Vehicle No Longer Available. Drove an old sprinter van for years until it fell apart. Had a Corolla for 19 years until a teen hit a telephone pole. Are there other minivan manufacturers that arent this crazy right now? We don’t need fancy or glamorous (have you seen the inside of a transit or old dodge sprinter? Lol) I don’t care what it looks like. Do we eat the cost of a long term rental while waiting for a new Sienna to come in and accept this as the cost of the times? Buy a used van for a ridiculous price but have it now? Look elsewhere, but for what? Go get a Ford transit connect as a mini-match our ginormous van? (I only half jest). Is the situation with Toyota Sienna’s going to improve any time soon? I keep reading the car market is improving but I am not seeing this in my search at all. But then there are no new ones to be had, and everyoneis adding crazy markup fees even if you are willing to wait. Newerish-used 2020+ Siennas are selling for the same price or more than new ones. Paying 25,000+ dollars for a car that already has 100,000+ miles does not seem like a fabulous long term solution for the amount of driving we do. The prices for used Toyota Sienna’s are off the charts. We really need another minivan that can seat 5 kids at a time. That is the date where I officially cannot get every one of my children where they need to be at the same time without an additional car- I have 3 other kids who have drop offs in 3 different places and hers would be a 4th in the same 1 hour window and the math officially stops working. The clock is therefore ticking. The intention of that gift was/is as a car for one of our teens when she gets her license. Since then we have been playing musical cars and surviving mainly on the 2013 Honda Civic that an elderly family member gifted us this year as they are no longer driving. I got into a car accident which totaled the Sienna. Our main vehicle that seats everyone is a behemoth Ford Transit wheelchair van. My husband and I have 8 children (7 living).
